Just wasn't having fun and I couldn't force myself to play it for another 30 hours. Found out the game is super long too so I gave up. A 30 minute intro cutscene, are you serious?! There's also no direction in the game, you basically just have to look everywhere until something happens. The dialogue is too long and there's no option to skip it which is ridiculous. The combat was beyond boring and got stale after like 2 fights. The paint brush isn't accurate at all and I found myself doing the same thing over and over again until it finally read it. Every time you walk the damn thing just slides around all over the place. Since Zelda is one of my favorite series I was excited to play. People rave about this game on how it's just like Zelda. I tried playing it a few weeks ago for the first time. If you feel like that's not the type of game for you altogether, don't force it, you'll just end up hating the bit you enjoyed so far. I feel like combat actually gets worse, some of the challenges get just a bit too difficult, and having to go trough all that dialogue again because the save point is so far. But, if looking up where to go/ strategies enhance your experience, do your thing, you don't have anything to prove to anyone. I enjoyed the exploration aspect and the game progression, with new abilities, a bit like old school Zelda and got a sense of "pride and accomplishment" for finding things out myself. Plus the fact it explains all of the mystery. The last two were more lacking and felt like padding to make the game last longer, but the very last chapter/dungeon/boss was quite the tearjerker plotwise. I would really recommend playing until you finish the demon island if you like the plot (or watching a let's play, because fuck forcing yourself to play a game you don't like just for that) But it has a nice plot twist at the end and opens up most of the map and abilities. The second is the longest and takes a while to really take off. I feel like the game has 4 chapters, the first is the best.
